The Genitourinary Cancer Program at City of Hope® Cancer Center Phoenix is committed to offering state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and treatment options for patients with cancer. Our multidisciplinary team of board-certified medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists and urologists work collaboratively with our supportive care providers and each patient to deliver quality clinical care with a patient-centered approach.
Our program is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of experts specializing in genitourinary cancer, including surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, interventional radiologists, supportive care team members and more. Several of our physicians hold faculty positions within City of Hope and externally have obtained unique certifications.

Professor, Department of Molecular Medicine at Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen)
Alan H. Bryce, M.D., joined City of Hope® Cancer Center Phoenix as the chief clinical officer in 2023 and is currently the interim president of City of Hope Phoenix. As a medical oncologist and researcher, Dr. Bryce holds a dual title as professor of the Department of Molecular Medicine at Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), also part of City of Hope and located in Phoenix. As an oncologist with City of Hope Phoenix, Dr. Bryce focuses his practice on genitourinary cancers, primarily prostate and testicular cancers, with specialized expertise in cancer research and genomics in prostate cancer.

Farshid Sadeghi, M.D., is the chief of surgery and a urologic oncologist at City of Hope Phoenix, where he works with patients diagnosed with a variety of genitourinary conditions, including kidney, bladder and prostate cancer. He is a board-certified urologist with more than 25 years of experience in cancer care and research.

Paul Gellhaus, M.D., is an associate clinical professor of surgery and director of robotic surgery at City of Hope Phoenix. A recognized leader in urologic oncology and robotic (minimally invasive) surgery, Dr. Gellhaus brings innovative treatment options to patients with genitourinary and urologic disorders, including kidney, ureteral, testicular, prostate and bladder cancers.

Firas Shadad, M.D., is a board-certified medical oncologist specializing in treating genitourinary and gastrointestinal cancers at City of Hope Phoenix. Dr. Shadad takes a compassionate approach to care that involves collaborating with patients, their loved ones and other physicians to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to each patient’s needs, preferences and treatment goals. He has experience with cancer types ranging from bladder, prostate and kidney cancer to colorectal and pancreatic cancer.

As a medical oncologist at City of Hope Phoenix, Divneet Mandair, M.D., M.S., brings both his clinical and research expertise to his work with patients diagnosed with prostate cancer, bladder cancer and other genitourinary diseases. His goal for his patients is to create personalized and effective treatment plans that incorporate the latest research advances. Dr. Mandair pairs his compassionate approach to care with a deep knowledge of innovative treatment options, such as radiology therapy and PARP inhibitors for prostate cancer.

Having expedited access to care excellence at City of Hope, the urologists with the Genitourinary Cancer Program at City of Hope are armed with blue light cystoscopy, an innovative diagnostic technology that significantly enhances bladder cancer detection.
City of Hope is proud to be the first facility in the West Valley to offer this state-of-the-art diagnostic tool, joining a select group of institutions in Arizona. Traditionally, most bladder cancer diagnoses rely on white light cystoscopy, which has long been the gold standard for visually inspecting the bladder lining. Blue light cystoscopy, when used in conjunction with white light, provides an enhanced visualization technique, improving the detection of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer that might otherwise go unnoticed. patients are transferred directly to the genitourinary unit at our cancer center in Goodyear, Arizona, where our doctors use blue light cystoscopy to help detect genitourinary cancers.
